Alfred Haberkorn studied cultural education in Hildesheim and art therapy in Dresden. Since 1999 he works as an art therapist in Zeithain’s youth prison and has developed and built up the area of art, music and theatre projects with prisoners. 2002 he was a co-founder of Banda Comunale which became Banda Internationale in 2015 through the collaboration with refugee musicians. Alfred Haberkorn leads the creative centre of Zeithain prison and is a member of the board at Kunst im Gefängnis e.V. (art in prison). He published articles in several publications.
