Hans Schneider was a music teacher at different secondary schools, assistant at the Institute for Music Pedagogy at the University for Music and Performing Arts Vienna and subsequently professor for music pedagogy at Hochschule für Musik Freiburg. He lead the music education projects Klangnetze in Austria together with Burkhard Stangl and Klangserve in Switzerland together with Daniel Ott. Also, he was advisor of Querklang in Berlin and organiser of the symposium „Neue Musik vermitteln: Methodische und ästhetische Fragestellungen“ (“conveying new music: methodical and aesthetic questions”) 2011.
In the year 2018 he lead a composition project with students of Gymnasiums Heustadelgasse in Vienna for “Campus Neue Musik” of the Institute for New Music and Music Education Darmstadt. Further education to convey new music are a further core area of his work.
