Amalia Barboza

Amalia Barboza is a social and cultural scientist and artist. 1990-1995 studies of sociology in Madrid and Konstanz, 1998-2003 studies of visual arts at HfbK Dresden, 2002 doctorate at TU Dresden. Since 2013 junior professor for theory and methods of cultural studies at Saarland University, since 2015 member of the board of Kulturwissenschaftliche Gesellschaft (KWG), leader of the section aesthetic of cultural studies of KWG.

Awards and scholarships (selection): 2012 cultural prize of Hessische Kulturstiftung, 2006 art prize of the state capital city of Dresden as member of the art group 7. Stock (7th floor), 2003 Hebenbarth Prize of the Foundation for Art and Culture of Stadtsparkasse Dresden, 1998-2001 Saxon State Scholarship for postgraduates, 1996-1997 scholarship of the Association of Friends and Sponsors of TU Dresden.
