Workshops at Saxon Schools – From Concept to Implementation by the Case of Banda Internationale – for all Art Creators

Since 2015 the musicians of Dresden band Banda Comunale have played together with refugee musicians from Syria, Iran, Iraq, Palestine and Burkina Faso. On the occasion of this originally only temporary project, the band changed its name to Banda Internationale and has carried it since. In 2016, the project was rewarded with the special prize of State Minister for Culture and Media, Monika Grütters.

Banda Internationale has also worked in Saxon Schools since 2016. The experience gained there shall be shared in the workshop to encourage musicians and artists from other fields to develop and implement similar concepts for children and adolescents. Besides organisational questions such as subsidy acquisition and the structural organisation of such projects, methodological and didactical tips will be given through mock situations, which shall make the work with children and adolescents in the workshop situation easier.
